Ultimate was first introduced during the 80’s in Italy. 10 years ago it was introduced into schools. Because of its high moral values and its rules, Ultimate look like the perfect sport to teach in middle and high school.

Andrea Sassoli – Head of delegation, Italy:

“The team choosen is the winner of the last year high school championship. Galvani High School has always been consistent, the team train once a week and it’s getting ready with scrimmage against close by Bologna teams.

The squad is very young and mostly unexpirienced, girls and boys got to know Ultimate during PE lessons. And then they decided to join the school team.

Mixed competitions are the perfect way to allow High School kids to understand fully the rules of Ultimate (such as no contact) and become better persons, learning to communicate with the opposite sex.

In such a international occasion we look forward to be able to give the opportunity to the players to know other cultures through the game of Ultimate. We are ready to bring our own culture along with delicious Italian foods, perfect match for an cultural exchange evening!”
